Academy Awards (The Oscars)
The most famous and coveted award of the movie industry, the Academy Award is a prize awarded every year by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, founded in Los Angeles in May 11, 1927, with the main objective of encouraging the production of works with a better technical and artistic quality.
The first ceremony was in a Los Angeles hotel in 1929. The ceremonies used to be made in lunches or dinners in hotels or large restaurants and the dissemination of results was the responsibility of the newspapers until the year 1940.
The award is given in a ceremony at the Dolby Theatre (Los Angeles), the movies that stood out last year in several categories, as actor, actress, director, photography, music, screenplay and best movie, among others. Winners are judged and selected by a board made up of more than 5000 "judges" of the Academy.
This year there was several nominations, among them Birdman, American Sniper, Whiplash, Theory of Everything. They are all movies that are worth watching, there will below the trailer of each one.
O mais famoso e cobiçado prêmio da indústria cinematográfica, o Oscar é um prêmio entregue todos os anos pela Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas, fundada em Los Angeles, em 11 de maio de 1927, com o principal intuito de incentivar a produção de obras com uma melhor qualidade técnica e artística.
A primeira cerimônia de entrega foi em um hotel de Los Angeles em 1929. As cerimônias costumavam ser feitas em almoços ou jantares em hotéis ou grandes restaurantes e a divulgação dos resultados era responsabilidade dos jornais até o ano de 1940.
O premio é entregue em uma cerimônia no teatro Dolby (Los Angeles),aos filmes que mais se destacaram no ano anterior em várias categorias, como ator, atriz, diretor, fotografia, música, roteiro e melhor filme, além de outras. Os vencedores são julgados e escolhidos por um colegiado formado por mais de 5000 “juízes” da Academia.
